How I got started

HCW : The Early Years

After shooting from the land for a long time, I was looking for a unique perspective different from the pack. The next step was to take my cameras into the water. I wanted to provide angles and images that the public had never seen before.

Everywhere I searched manufacturers were charging exorbitant fees for waterhousings, so I decided to take it upon myself to learn the craft. With my creative past and a helpful father, I embarked on this new career path.

Since then, I have helped countless people enter the water with their cameras and capture some of the most important moments of their lives. I look forward to making waterhousings, and working with you on your next project.

The materials we use.

The materials that we use are high grade fiberglass and plexiglas. The fiberglass shapes to the camera to make the housing a tight fit.
The controls are sealed with double o-rings to ensure an air/water tight seal. The camera waterhousing seals with a single quad o-ring. We can custom make any controls that you might want such as flash, shutter speed and aperture for still cameras. For video cams we can design backlight, push focus, shutter speed, and exposure. Extra charges will apply for additional controls requested on a standard housing.

The Camera's That I have molds for.

We have a mold for the Panasonic HDC-SD100. This camera is 1 of the 1st HD 3CMOS cameras. The camera is small enough to make a helmet camera mount on the housing, which gives you the option to use it as a helmet camera or as a pistol grip camera.

We also have the molds for the Canon 5D/10D/20D/30D/40D, Canon Mark II/III & Sony HDR-HC5/HC7/HC9
